Swimming Lessons with Kernow Splashers
We have now teamed up with Kernow Splashers to offer year round swimming lessons. We will have group classes that run through November, December, February and March which are included in your weekly rental. Private lessons and courses for your family (including adults) can be organised at times to suit you. We have had a huge success with our classes so far and have seen dramatic improvements in water confidence with many children swimming on their own for the first time by the end of their holiday.

The courses will be made up of 5 half hour classes from Sat - Wed from 9 am followed by animal feeding leaving the rest of the day free.
Toddler and Baby Swimming 0 – 3 Years
A fabulous opportunity for all parents and even grandparents to be involved in swimming with your little ones. The course uses the starfish awards introducing children as young as 12 weeks to swimming. These lessons are undertaken in shallow water with the parent/guardian in the water holding and supporting the baby. The parent/guardian is taught to hold the baby securely yet safely, maintaining eye contact and frequently giving words of encouragement. There are a series of 6 badges which are awarded as the baby progresses through the course.
Pre-school 3-5 years
The Stanley – First Steps Series focuses on creating fun experiences for young children that will not only help them to develop physically, whilst equipping them with key safety skills in the water.
5-10 years
We use the Octopus, Goldfish, Angelfish and Shark badge award scheme, each fish has 3 different levels.

Forest and Wildlife School
During the summer months next year we are going to be running an outdoor and wildlife school based in our new tipi at Glynn Barton. This will be an opportunity for remote controls, mobile phones and newspapers to be put to one side and for parents to enjoy some quality outside time with their children. We will continue to do our wildlife courses and mini safaris with the Cornwall Wildlife Trust which were such a big hit this year. Expanding on this we shall be doing den building, scent-making, outdoor cooking as well as learning some bush crafts, outdoor art and games.
The school will run for one morning each week and will be included in the cost of the holiday. An opportunity for children and parents to go wild together in the great Cornish outdoors.
Camp Out in our Tipi
From May – Sept guests will also be able to camp for the night in the tipi with the knowledge that it’s only a quick dash to their cottage if the jitters set in and without the stress of trying to get an oversized tent into an undersize tent bag!
