"It's so nice I want to live here." - Alistair Fraser, The Telegraph

It's not like staying at your usual self-catering cottage

- it is designed totally and utterly for us -

Diary of a Devon Mum

“Never plan a staycation without some wet weather back up plans. One of the best things about Glynn Barton is you don’t need to venture out to find fun.”

We recently welcomed the wonderful Clio, Mumsnet writer and Mummy Blogger, to our Cottages and she’s very kindly written a superb Blog all about us – thanks Clio!

“Sometimes you just need to get out of the house. Escape the jobs. Extract yourself from the insurmountable pile of washing.

You don’t have to go far. In fact an hour down the road is about right.

That’s how we found ourselves in Cornwall one Autumn weekend.

‘Never again,’ I snapped as I folded myself into the front seat, under a pile of stuff that wouldn’t fit into the boot thanks to the giant buggy. ‘It’s just not worth it.’

But I was wrong.

A long weekend at Glynn Barton Cottages is not like staying at your usual self-catering cottage – it is designed totally and utterly for us – us weary parents with small bundles of relentless energy.

All the hurdles you usually face when going away with young kids, just aren’t there. Owners Shirley and Steve have thought of everything. I guess that’s because they’re the real deal – grandparents who’ve been there and know exactly what young families need to actually enjoy a holiday.”
